Search begins for 2018 Commonwealth Games ticket provider

The Queensland Government and the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) have begun a expressions of interest process to find  a ticket service provider for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Announcing the EOI, Queensland Minister for Education and Minister for Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games Kate Jones said the successful firm would be in charge of a ticket inventory of up to 1.5 million for more than 250 competition events at the Games.

Minister Jones explained “this is a major service provision and one that involves all aspects of ticket sales for the Games.

“The contract will involve the administration of the ticket allocation and management of the ticketing technology platform.

“It also includes the receipt and fulfilment of orders through phone, email and post, including ticket printing and despatch, as well as operation of the call centre and retail sales network.

“The ticketing technology platform will need to integrate with a transaction website and it goes without saying how vitally important it will be that everything works seamlessly.”

The contract was expected to be awarded in early 2016.

Details on the ticket service provider procurement are available at the Queensland Government's Qtender website. Click here for information.
