Sea World Whale Watching ready for new season
With the Gold Coast Whale Watching season fast approaching and the first Humpbacks being spotted off the Gold Coast, the Sea World Whale Watch crew are busy preparing for the launch of the new season on Saturday 26th May.
Sea World Whale Watch will again offer the ultimate whale watching experience on the Gold Coast. Sea World's custom designed $3.5 million catamaran will comfortably carry in excess of 100 passengers and will operate daily (weather permitting) from the Sea World Whale Watch Terminal.
Sea World Director of Marine Sciences Trevor Long said that Sea World Whale Watch offers advanced educational facilities which enhance the amazing experience of getting up close to the whales.
Long explains "whale watching is a truly wonderful experience and it's something that everyone should do at least once in their lifetime.
"The Humpback Whale population that migrates along our east coast is growing by between 8 and 13% annually, and we are expecting to see over 14,000 whales pass the Gold Coast in 2012.
"Sea World Whale Watch also has an underwater microphone so you can listen in on the whale songs during a tour."
The whale watching season runs from May to November during the annual Humpback Whale migration past the Gold Coast. The whales migrate along the east coast of Australia on their annual journey to the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef to calf and mate. These magnificent mammals then begin the long journey home to feed on the krill rich Antarctic waters.
Sea World Whale Watch tickets cost $99 for Adults, $77 for Children and Senior Card holders and $275 for a family pass (two adults and two children).
