SCG redevelopment on schedule for January opening

Sydney Cricket Ground (SGG) Trust Chairman Rodney Cavalier has confirmed that the stadium's MA Noble Stand, Don Bradman Stand and Dally Messenger Stand will be operational for the Fifth Ashes Test between Australia v England on 3rd January 2014.

Cavalier advised "the structure is complete (and) we are on track for the roof to be complete. We are ahead of schedule for every seat to be installed and ready for occupation.

"This information is consistent with our regular updates on the SCG website. We have sought to keep the public advised of progress.

"The Trust looks forward to welcoming members of the public to an open day at noon on 29th December so that they can see the stands for themselves. Later that day and into the night the stands will be in use for the Big Bash League, Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Stars."

The $186 million redevelopment of the new Northern Stand at the SCG will provide much-needed state-of-the-art facilities for the historic ground including roof-top terrace, sports bar with its own micro-brewery, 700 person dining room, corporate areas and a large entry atrium.
