SCEC success recognised at MEA NSW Awards
The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre (SCEC) is celebrating a record number of wins at this year's Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) NSW Awards event, topping five categories in the prestigious awards.
In recognition of its professionalism and leadership in venue management, the Centre was announced the winner of the awards for Meeting Venue 500 delegates or more, In-house AV Services and Banqueting & Catering at a ceremony at Sydney's Luna Park.
The venue also collected the Corporate Social Responsibility award in recognition of the work of its Ecowise and C-connect committees, which continued to undertake a range of green initiatives and CSR activities during 2012.
The work of the Centre's team was also recognised with Event Manager, Emma Rutledge, picking up the Event Manager of the Year Award.
SCEC Chief Executive, Ton van Amerongen, said the wins were a wonderful demonstration of the Centre's enduring professionalism and success, and a fitting way to mark and celebrate the Centre's 25th anniversary this year.
van Amerongen explained "these awards reflect our continued dedication to providing a world-class service for our clients, and my heartfelt thanks go to the entire Centre team who work so hard to deliver excellent results everyday."
van Amerongen said innovation and creativity were key aspects of the Centre's winning submissions, along with ongoing investment in new products such as digital signage and the development of a custom-designed traffic management safety system.
The Centre will be a finalist in each category at the MEA National Awards to be held in Darwin on 7th May.
