Royal Life Saving to launch report into the social, health and economic value of the aquatic industry

Mindful that aquatic facilities are at the heart of every Australian community, from the biggest urban facilities to the seasonal pools serving regional and remote communities, Royal Life Saving Society - Australia is set to release a groundbreaking report into the social, health and economic value of the Australian aquatic industry.

The report results from Royal Life Saving having commissioned Pricewaterhouse Coopers Australia (PwC) to do an independent assessment of the value of pools to the community - from council-owned public aquatic facilities to learn-to-swim businesses, and fitness club pools.

The report documents the benefits that accrue to individuals, communities and society as a result of activities undertaken across the Australian aquatic industry.

Constrained by Coronavirus lockdowns, the launch of The Social, Health and Economic Value of the Australian National Aquatic Industry Report is to be held as an online event on Tuesday 10th August 2021, from 12:00pm to 1:30pm (AEST).

At the launch, Royal Life Saving will host a discussion from leading experts on both the practices and opportunities associated with impact assessment in sport, aquatics and broader advocacy.

Royal Life Saving will be joined by practitioners, advocates and experts in the field including:
