Royal Adelaide Show to celebrate 20 years of pig racing

This year's Royal Adelaide Show, which starts tomorrow, is set to offer a range of entertainment along with new rides.

The annual event, held at the Adelaide Showgrounds from 7th to 15th September, will celebrate 20 years of pig racing while the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) will hit the venue's 'Superstar Stage' each night of the Royal Show.

A full professional wrestling ring will be set up to showcase the best wrestlers from around the country, including NWA Australian Champion Robby Heart and 'Jag' Hartley Jackson. Special guest female and international wrestlers will also feature.

Organiser, Rhiannon Clews explains "Robby Heart is huge in Australia at the moment, and this is a great chance to see him in action before he heads off overseas to other matches."

Fans will get the chance to meet the stars after each show, and children will be able to get photographs and autographs.

The event will culminate in a huge 'Royal Show Rumble', where all competitors will battle it out on the last night of the Show for the Royal Show Cup.

Clews adds "the winner last year was Adelaide's own 'Wreckin Ball' Will Gibson, who defeated 13 other wrestlers to win. It was spectacular!"

Matches will begin at 7.30pm each evening, with each show lasting around 45 minutes.

Other entertainment will include the Zimbabwe Brothers, Frequency One & Those Tap Guys on the Coca Cola Stage and the Unley City Marching Band in the Kingsway and SAPOL Band on the Coca Cola Stage.

In the Carnival Area, new rides include the Hollywood Horrors Live Experience walk through attraction and Rockin' Train Ride children's attraction.

The Royal Show also offers 'Carnival Cash' pre-purchased ride coupons with $40 worth of ride coupons costing $35 or $100 worth of ride coupons for $80.

Carnival Cash can be pre purchased from Ticketek, IGA, Foodland and the Royal Show website, www.theshow.com.au
