Rowing and rockclimbing among free outdoor activities available to South Perth community

Rowing and rockclimbing are among the host of free outdoor experiences offered to the South Perth community following the City having secured funding from the WA Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

The 12-month program of free events, which also includes canoeing, sailing and bushwalking aims to encourage the community to get active outdoors in their local area.

Out on the Water in South Perth offers a unique opportunity for children and adults of all abilities to take part in a range of water-based activities under the expert guidance of Curtin Rowing Club and Salter Point Sea Scouts.

Out on the Water South Perth is open to people who live, work or study in the City of South Perth and participants can take part on a regular or casual basis.

Curtin Rowing Club activities are suitable for adults and children aged 10 and up while Salter Point Sea Scouts caters for young people aged six to 25 years.

Mayor Milner advised “The City of South Perth is delighted to support our local Curtin Rowing Club and Salter Point Sea Scouts to offer a year-long program of free outdoor recreation activities for our community.

“Out on the Water in South Perth is not only a great way to stay active and try something new, it’s also a great way to meet new people and connect with our community.”
