Rolling Stones take out Billboard Touring award
The Rolling Stones have won the top boxscore award at the annual Billboard Touring Awards.
The veteran rock band, who have hust completed their delayed tour of Australian and New Zealand, took out the award for the Top Box Office for a single run of shows for their series of concerts on 26th February, 4th March and 6th March at the Tokyo Dome.
The awards have traditionally been dominated by veteran artists like U2, Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen, but with most of these off the road in 2014, newer artists like One Direction, who won the Top Tour Award, were able to have their day.
Sydney's Allphones Arena, one of three international venues nominated for the Top Arena Award, lost out to London's O2 Arena.
