Robert C. Hauck to lead Phuket-based hospitality and sports group

Thanyapura, Thailand's innovative hospitality and sports group, has appointed Robert C. Hauck, as Group President of its hotel and sport facilities.

Hauck has developed a reputation for visionary leadership and has achieved wide recognition for distinguished performances in hospitality management and sales and marketing during his 23-year career on four continents. He is also an enthusiastic triathlete and sportsman.

Thanyapura offers an extensive portfolio of attractions centred on a 23-hectare campus in Phuket, which includes the Thanyapura Sports & Leisure Club - a world-class sports and fitness facility for elite athletes and amateur enthusiasts. Thanyapura's on site services extend to restaurants and bars, a cooking school, day spa, fully equipped kids and teens club, visual arts studio and a performing arts centre.

The complex is also home to the Thanyapura Mind Centre for the cultivation of mental and emotional balance, the Phuket International Academy Day School (PIADS), the 38-room Thanyapura Retreat, the 77-room Thanyapura Resort and the five-star Thanyamundra Ogranic Resort, the first and only certified organic farm in southern Thailand, adjacent to Khao Sok National Park.

Prior to his most recent role as General Manager at the award winning Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor in Cambodia, Hauck held management positions at renowned luxury hotels across Asia Pacific, including Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei, Island Shangri-La Hong Kong, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur and Pudong Shangri-La in Shanghai.
