revolutioniseSPORT launches ‘next generation’ websites for thousands of Australian sporting clubs

Leading sports management technology platform revolutioniseSPORT has released what is says is the “next generation” of sporting club websites to thousands of clubs across the country.

Over 14,000 clubs that use revolutioniseSPORT platform’s inbuilt website tool now have the ability to build and promote a website that has a modern, streamlined, user-focused experience, and is mobile-first in its approach.

The move comes as reports from Google continue to indicate that the majority of website traffic (more than 50%) comes from mobile devices, a trend that has been steadily increasing over the last few years.

Cass Simonetti, Manager, Digital Product & Innovation at parent company SportsGrid, and Lead Product Manager of the revolutioniseSPORT platform, explained “when we first built revolutioniseSPORT, website design and website standards were in a different place.

“Common frameworks for mobile design and standards just didn’t exist the way they do today. As the digital world has evolved, almost 70% of traffic to our public- facing club websites is now through mobile devices, and we’ve worked hard to respond to that.”

The revolutioniseSPORT websites are built upon scalable infrastructure using Amazon Web Services, with endpoints around the world supporting regional and international customers.

Alex Mednis, Managing Director of revolutioniseSPORT and Chief Executive Officer of parent company SportsGrid, noted “these changes really bring our clubs into the future, and we are positioning them for the next few years of growth.

“Every software platform evolves, and, over time, accrues what is called ‘technical debt’, or increasing maintenance of existing solutions. This evolution clears an enormous amount of that debt, and allows us to continue to scale into the future.”

Clubs already using or looking to use the revolutioniseSPORT platform can make full use of the full suite of features, including a completely mobile-first architecture, an easy-to-use editor that does not require any IT skills, and a user-first design approach, which prioritises key workflows including membership registrations and e-commerce.

All revolutioniseSPORT customers have now been migrated to the new website template, and they are thrilled at the changes.

Among sports, Baz Wedmaier, Chief Executive at Volleyball NSW, welcomed the innovation, stating “the new template has created a brand new feel to our organisation's website, and we have noticed significantly more engagement with its modern, mobile-friendly design.

“The ability to customise our site with ease has been highly beneficial.”

In conclusion, Simonetti added “this milestone marks just the beginning of an exciting suite of changes and upgrades that are in the pipeline or currently being rolled out across the revolutioniseSPORT platform.

“User experience is our number one priority, and we will continue to work at ensuring that our clients and their members enjoy a best-in-class platform that is powerful yet simple, and a joy to use.”
