Resort Manager Celebrates 22 Years
Sea World Resort & Water Park General Manager, Ernst Pfister celebrated 22 years service.
Born in Innsbruck, Austria Ernst Pfister's career began at the age of 14 as an apprentice chef. This was the first rung of a ladder which would take him to the helm of Sea World Resort where his 22 years of service make him by far the longest serving general manager on the Gold Coast.
His thorough knowledge of all aspects of the Resortâs business comes from experience, rising through the ranks and travelling around the world. He has worked in hotels in Switzerland, New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, Bermuda and England.
Ernst is a colourful character and is well respected amongst his employees and members of the Australian tourism Industry. In 1994, he entered the Queensland Hotel Hall of Fame.
Fluent in German, Pfister was awarded the Silver Star of Merit from the Republic of Austria, recognising his outstanding contribution to Austrian art, culture and food and his commitment to the Austrian community in Australia.
Reflecting on the key to his longevity and the Resortâs success, Ernst says "you have to think laterally, have a vision for the future and keep up to date on every aspect of the hotel operation.�?
