Redeveloped Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre gets naming rights sponsorship

Brydens Lawyers have been revealed as the inaugural naming rights sponsors of the new stadium at the Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre (SUSAC).

Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness (SUSF) Executive Director Robert Smithies announced the sponsorship, stating "it is wonderful to see that Brydens have also taken up the naming rights to our new basketball stadium."

The naming rights deal for the new indoor arena follows the leading litigation firm's backing of WNBL team the Sydney Uni Flames with a three year major naming rights sponsorship.

The new stadium is part of SUSF's $15million upgrade and extension works to SUSAC and will showcase all Brydens Sydney Uni Flames basketball home games, with the capacity to house up to 1200 spectators. The new centre also includes a new group fitness room; a martial arts dojo; and a boxing room.

Brydens Lawyers' Principal, Lee Hagipantelis said the sponsorship solidifies the firm's support of SUSF and the Flames.

Hagipantelis explained "the opportunity to take on the naming rights sponsorship of the magnificent new stadium at Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness seemed a natural extension of the relationship that has been recently formalised between Brydens and the Sydney Uni Flames.

"It was simply an opportunity too good to miss. The new stadium is an incredible facility that is purpose-built for the hosting of the Brydens Sydney Uni Flames home games, as well as many other sporting endeavours.

"I have no doubt that Brydens Stadium will soon come to be recognised as one of Sydney's best sporting facilities."

SUSF President, Bruce Ross expressed his excitement and noted Brydens dedication to women's sport and the Flames, adding "we are extremely fortunate to have brought on board a major sponsor with a real commitment to women's sport.

"It is significant that Brydens have not only chosen to back the Sydney Uni Flames, but have also been prepared to secure naming rights for the magnificent new stadium where the Flames will play their home games."

Rob Smithies concluded "this makes Brydens the biggest sponsorship and naming rights contributor to the SUSAC upgrade and extension project and to the Flames, and we welcome them as a significant partner with SUSF in a relationship that will last for many years."

The new Brydens Stadium will be officially opened tomorrow (Thursday 15th August) while the Brydens Sydney Uni Flames will play their first 2013/14 WNBL home game against the Dandenong Rangers at Brydens Stadium on Friday 11th October.
