Record evening crowd numbers at 2018 Sydney Royal Easter Show
The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW has advised that a record evening crowd was reached at the Sydney Royal Easter Show on Good Friday evening with almost 21,500 people passing through the gates from 4pm.
Surpasses the previous evening record of just over 16,000 set in 2016, the full-day attendance of 128,212 on Friday was the ninth highest all-time daily rate recorded since The Show moved to Sydney Olympic Park from Moore Park in 1998.
General Manager Royal Easter Show and Agriculture, Murray Wilton, said the development of a separate lunchtime and evening entertainment program in the Main Arena in Spotless Stadium had proven a clear winner with the crowds, stating “the varied entertainment is offering Showgoers great options.
“Some families like to stay almost the entire day, so the different entertainment across the time slots in Main Arena is welcomed by them.
“Others like to come in the afternoon, sometimes after work or school, so a night of entertainment like we have this year with the Easter Show Circus Spectacular is the perfect fit.
“We have been swamped with incredibly positive feedback about this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show, particularly about its mix of agriculture and entertainment, and it makes our team very happy to see so many of our visitors, whether first-timers or annual Showgoers create memories.”
