Record entries for Australia’s toughest one-day ride

To be held on Sunday 8th March, the Peaks Challenge Falls Creek ride will incorporate the toughest cycling climbs and terrain in Victoria’s Alpine Region, covering more than 4,400 vertical metres.

Sold out for the second consecutive year, the 2015 Peaks Challenge is expected to be the biggest year in the event’s history with 2,000 Australian and international cyclists signed up for the challenge.

Now in its sixth year, the internationally acclaimed ride attracts thousands of cyclists from around the world to experience the tough and picturesque climbs of the Victorian Alps.

Explaining that the Peaks Challenge Falls Creek is the only world-class event of its kind in Australia, Bicycle Network Chief Executive Craig Richards states “comparable to a stage of the Tour de France, Peaks Challenge Falls Creek offers cyclists the unique opportunity to test their limits in a stunning part of Victoria.”.

Richards adds that with demand for epic challenge rides growing across Australia, Bicycle Network has some exciting things planned for Peaks Challenge in 2015.

He adds “if you missed out on a spot in Peaks Challenge Falls Creek - stay tuned.

“We’ve got some exciting announcements planned as we look to expand the series across Australia in 2015.”

Peaks Challenge Falls Creek is a fully supported, 235 kilometre circuit of road cycling through the Victorian Alps, including the three major climbs of Tawonga Gap, Mount Hotham and Falls Creek within a 13 hour deadline.
