QTIC announces new Board of Directors appointment
The Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) has announced that Alison Smith, Chief Executive of the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) has been appointed to its Board of Directors.
Announcing the appointment, QTIC Chief Executive, Brett Fraser stated "Alison is well-versed in representing the interests of local government and community and understands the critical importance of industry advocacy.
"With an executive career spanning the corporate, not-for-profit, and public sectors and with experience across various industries, including tourism, resources, transport and technology, Alison’s vast background and adaptable expertise will bring a wealth of experience to the QTIC Board and will serve Queensland’s tourism industry well."
Commenting on her new role, Smith (pictured) added “I am thrilled to be joining the QTIC Board and am grateful for the opportunity to further represent and advocate for Queensland’s tourism community and our varied regions.
“Along with my fellow Board Directors, I look forward to leveraging on new opportunities and developing greater pathways for local communities, business and industry alike as we navigate through this new phase of tourism regrowth.”
