QAGOMA joins Cultural Attractions of Australia
Cultural Attractions of Australia (CAOA) has revealed that the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) has entered its membership - becoming the 18th member to join the association.
Having recently passed its third anniversary, CAOA is continuing its role in bringing together significant arts and cultural attractions to showcase the best of Australia’s significant creative and historical heritage around the nation and the world.
Tourism Australia’s Signature Experiences of Australia program, CAOA collaborates with members to offer an inspiring selection of pre-bookable, commissionable, bespoke, VIP and behind-the-scenes experiences, ensuring unrivalled access for guests.
In a statement on its website, CAOA advise “as Queensland’s premier visual arts institution and one of the most ambitious and dynamic art galleries in Australia, QAGOMA is a fitting addition to the collective. The unique experience being launched through Cultural Attractions of Australia’s channels delivers an immersive evening of the unique art and culture of Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.”
CAOA Chair, Jennifer Ganske also notes “as we restart the visitor economy, we couldn’t be prouder to announce QAGOMA joining the Cultural Attractions of Australia collective.
“This welcome addition highlights new beginnings and reinforces the importance of further collaboration to create exciting and memorable cultural experiences for local and international visitors as travelling starts again.”
Commenting on the institution’s membership, QAGOMA Director, Chris Saines commented “QAGOMA takes pride in delivering authentic, meaningful and immersive cultural experiences that are a powerful drawcard for today’s travellers.
“We’re excited to be involved with CAOA and look forward to sharing this new urban Indigenous experience at the Gallery with local and international guests.”
Tourism Australia Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison added “it is great to see that QAGOMA has been welcomed as the eighteenth member of Cultural Attractions of Australia, one of the eight collectives in Tourism Australia’s Signature Experiences of Australia program.
“This new collaboration will deliver truly inspiring and innovative travel experiences for both domestic and international visitors. We are so privileged to have a wealth of art, cultural, historic and sporting attractions that enable us to share the unique Australian story in so many ways.”
