Perth to host trial Supercars night race at Barbagallo Raceway in 2019

Western Australia will host a Supercars night race at Perth’s Barbagallo Raceway for the first time next year.

To be held from 2nd to 4th May, the trial night race follows a similar innovation in Sydney earlier this year attracted larger audiences compared to day racing, including more families.

Advising that the revamped Barbagallo event will be the only night race in Australia next year, Western Australian Tourism Minister Paul Papalia stated “night races will provide a point of difference between Perth and other race events on the Supercars calendar, and we’re hoping this will entice more people to travel to Western Australia for the event.

 “Being live on TV on the east coast alongside iconic events such as the Bathurst 1000, will also help us promote Perth as an exciting travel destination in some of our key domestic markets.

The revamped event will be the only night race to be staged in Australia next year.
