Performing arts leaders from around the world set to head to ISPA Congress in Perth

Being held in Perth from 30th April to 3rd May, the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) mid-year Congress is expecting to welcome performing arts leaders from around the world to join global conversations, make new connections, strengthen relationships and discover the next great ideas.

Presenting a mix of industry conversations, keynotes, panels and progressive ideas all focussed around artistic and industry breakthroughs, delegates will be exposed to real-time examples of new international models of artistic and industry breakthroughs while also being able to discover Perth’s natural beauty and lively cultural scene at the Perth 2024 ISPA Congress.

Hosted by PAC Australia, the mid-year, 75th Anniversary ISPA congress will be held at various locations throughout the city and environs.

Congress events begin with the Anthony Field Academy (an intensive arts administration program for emerging leaders) on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th April, with the full Congress kicking off on the Tuesday evening with a Welcome to Country and an opening performance.

In addition to the always anticipated ISPA programs such as Pitch New Works, Professional Exchange (ProEx), and the ISPA Awards, the congress delegates will have opportunities to visit the newest, state of the art performance venues along with some of the city’s most treasured and iconic facilities.

Local and regional artists and arts organisations will be featured throughout the congress.

Looking forward to the event, David Baile, Chief Executive of the New York, USA-based ISPA stated “we are delighted to be in Perth for ISPA’s 75th anniversary year. While ISPA has enjoyed three past congresses in Australia, this will be our first visit to Western Australia.

“Delegates are looking forward to learning more about the rich cultural community in the region and we hope for a legacy of cultural exchange moving into the future.”

Congress Theme
The 2024 ISPA mid-year congress will focus on real-time examples of new international models of artistic and industry breakthroughs - whether that be through our evolution, or a revolution. Navigating the deeply challenging contexts of recent years, the congress will platform brave examples of transformation, to reinvigorate our passionate pursuit of purpose. (And a purposeful pursuit of passion).

The International Society for the Performing Arts
ISPA is a global association of more than 500 arts management leaders from 56 regions, who come together with the shared goal of strengthening and developing the arts internationally. We achieve this by building leadership ability, by recognizing and discussing field-wide trends and new developments, and by deepening global exchange through the arts.

ISPA members include presenters, performing arts organizations, artist managers, competitions, funders, consultants and other professionals working in the performing arts.

Founded in 1948 by Patrick Hayes, 2024 marks ISPA's 75th Anniversary.

Online registration for the Congress is open through to 22nd April with a special regional rate for delegates from Australia and New Zealand.
