PAC Australia partners with Auckland Live to deliver PTP Aotearoa

After two successful years delivering Australia’s only specialised training program for performing arts presenters, PAC Australia has joined forces with Auckland Live to deliver the program in New Zealand in 2023.

Aimed at developing the skills of New Zealand presenters working in the professional performing arts industry, the Presenter Training Programme Aotearoa (PTP Aotearoa) will offer a New Zealand-specific training focus, unpacking the unique challenges faced by performing arts presenters, while developing skills to enhance success and add value to audiences, stakeholders, and community. Informed by the local context, the structured program covers essential topics such as governance and financial models, marketing and audience development, working with producers, and building a balanced and diverse program.

Aimed at presenters new to or in an early stage of working in professional performing arts venues and seeking a greater understanding of the role, applications for PTP Aotearoa are now open.

Introducing the program, PAC Australia Executive Director, Katherine Connor stated “PAC Australia is immensely proud of our Presenter Training Program and the outcomes participants have been able to achieve in such a short space of time.

“As the only bespoke training program specifically designed for performing arts presenting, we’re thrilled to be working with our colleagues in Aotearoa to expand the reach and impact of the program.”

The PTP Aotearoa will offer a structured course in 2023 between March and September with eight online sessions and two in-person opportunities; one alongside the 2023 PANNZ Arts Market in Auckland in March and the other, a full day intensive in-person session presented in conjunction with the 2023 Australian Performing Arts Exchange (APAX) in Cairns, Australia in late August.

PTP Aotearoa will be delivered by professionals from the industry and will provide a deeper understanding of the role and potential of the Presenter in the contemporary New Zealand performing arts context.

Applications close Monday 13th February 2023.
