Penrith City Council partners with Creative Plus Business to deliver free workshops

Penrith City Council has partnered with Creative Plus Business to offer free exciting Creative Business Workshops covering critical topics focussed on enabling the growing number of local creatives to build skills, connect with other creatives and develop their networks.

Recognising how difficult it can be to take that next step to launch great ideas into a business, this bespoke business development program focuses on topics of importance for creative workers with subjects ranging from the fundamentals of time management through to how to cost creative services and products, and how to draft a marketing strategy.

Penrith Mayor Tricia Hitchen encourages local creatives and businesses to register for one — or all — of the workshops and advised “Council partnered with Creative Plus Business to deliver the workshops after receiving interest from the community in participating in classes and activities covering topics to help further a creative’s knowledge and provide networking opportunities.

“We held a Freelance Skills for Creatives workshop in March with great success, with participants commenting that it was delivered by a passionate, inspiring and knowledgeable presenter.

“Penrith has a growing creative industry that offers jobs for many people, and it can be difficult to know where to get started on your creative journey as an artist or a business owner. Council is looking forward to hosting the next three workshops in the series with Creative Plus Business.”

The program includes Time Management for Creatives Workshop on Wednesday 16th August, Pricing for Creatives Workshop on Wednesday 13th September, and Creative’s Guide to Marketing Workshop on Thursday 30th November at The Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre. Participants are welcome to attend the workshops from 5pm for a 5.30pm start and finish at 7.30pm, with a light dinner provided.

Participants will walk away with practical strategies, free resources, and opportunities to ask questions and network with each other.
