Logan community feedback sought on draft creative strategy

The City of Logan is inviting the community to offer feedback on its draft Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy 2023-2027 which was developed after extensive consultation with Logan residents, community groups, cultural practitioners and other stakeholders.

Feedback on the draft strategy can be lodged via Council’s Have Your Say platform from Tuesday, 28th February until Sunday 2nd April.

City of Logan Mayor Darren Power said arts, culture and heritage played an important role in the fabric of the community noting “a community that values its creativity and heritage knows itself and its strengths.

“Embracing those strengths will help us face future challenges, embrace new ideas, and create a proud, connected and healthy city.”

City Lifestyle Committee Chair, Councillor Laurie Koranski, said the strategy provided a foundation for Council, together with the community, to support the sustainable growth of Logan’s creative industries over the next four years.

“This will allow us to take advantage of the extraordinary opportunities ahead for our region,” Cr Koranski said.

The draft strategy responds to community aspirations through five priorities – Build and develop, Inspire and engage, Activate places and spaces, Partner and collaborate and Communicate and celebrate.
