PCYC NSW looking for Gymnastics Coaches
PCYC as the largest provider of Gymnastics in NSW, are looking for coaches to join their team to enable them to continue providing positive experiences for young people across the State.
Gymnastics coaches are in high demand at the moment with more and more young athletes attracted to the idea of combining strength, flexibility and power into a number of different gymnastic disciplines.
PCYC NSW clubs across the state are looking for coaches of all levels, with the opportunity to join the PCYC Junior Coach Program to start a career with accredited instructor training recognised by Gymnastics Australia.
The Beginner Coach Accreditation is the minimum requirement for coaching in gymnastics. In the program the PCYC Junior Coach will gain the skills and knowledge they need to help prepare and coach gymnastics sessions involving fundamental movement and gymnastics skills.
PCYC has a team of gymnastics coaches across their network who are empowered to get children active and teach all types of gymnastics programs. Coaches are encouraged to further their education through PCYC and are supported with access to a range of professional development.
PCYC NSW highlight that “Gymnastics develops the fundamental movement skills that deliver lifelong physical benefits. Gymnasts practice flexibility, muscular strength, and muscular endurance each class. Learning essential gymnastics coaching principles is the best way to pass these skills and benefits on to the next generation of athletes.
“Coaching also teaches you lifelong skills not just in understanding movement, biomechanics and training physical abilities, but in class management, leadership, communication, planning, adapting teaching methods to suit learning styles, and risk management.
“Whether it’s short term or a career choice, coaching gymnastics is a rewarding and valuable experience. Whether you’re teaching recreational gymnastics, team gym, advanced skills or competitive gymnastics, part time, full time or casual – there’s a pathway for everyone.”
