Paul Sadler Swimland puts hygiene and safety measure in place for post-Coronavirus operations
Following a forced closure of its swim schools across Australia in March as a result of COVID-19, in June Paul Sadler Swimland was able to reopen its Townsville swim school, with the Paul Sadler Swimland Riverside Gardens now operating at 93% of March numbers - which the group describes as “an outstanding result”.
Early last month it also reopened its Bacchus Marsh and Bendigo swim schools in regional Victoria which, prior to their being forced to close again due to the state’s latest lockdown measures, had seen approximately 60% of swimmers return to regular classes.
Measures being put in place at the Victorian swim schools, which are now hold, included sneeze guards at reception, hand sanitiser stations, traffic flow measures, limited class sizes, enhanced staff training and a cleaning regime of 30 minute cleans and a thorough deep clean at the end of each day.
A Paul Sadler Swimland spokesperson explained “unfortunately, (while we have not been) able to reopen due to a second lockdown, with all of our sites ready … we are now using this time to further prepare and to re-engage our customers to help them get ready as well.
“We are offering our older swimmers the opportunity to re-engage with their swim coaches via live land drill training sessions. These are designed by Ben Sadler to help swimmers be ready to get back in the pool after this extended break. These sessions are a great way to rebuild the connection with our swimmers and offer families support during this time.
“In addition, we have established relationships with key providers to be able to offer our families offers and discounts to further be ready to get back to swimming.
“For example: we have built a key relationship with Back Beach Co to offer a discount on zip up beach towels, which will help families when they return to swimming lessons in wrapping up and leaving the centre - rather than staying on site to shower and change, thus minimising any health risk.
“We’ve been talking with our customers and listening to what they have been telling us. This has helped inform our decisions and continues to be the centre of our focus.
“By focussing on the customer and meeting and exceeding their needs, particularly during this period, we feel we will be in the best position to reopen our remaining sites successfully.”
