Partnership between DHL Express Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia extended to 2024

The partnership between DHL Express - the world’s leading international express service provider - and Surf Life Saving Australia is being extended for another three years until August 2024, during which time the two organisations will mark the significant milestone of over 20 years of partnership.

The extension of the partnership comes as DHL and Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) celebrate 18 years of organising regular programs and initiatives to increase coastal safety and environment-protection awareness. Since the partnership began in 2003, DHL has featured on the patrol uniforms worn by over 47,000 surf lifesavers on beaches around Australia.

DHL Express Australia Chief Executive and Senior Vice President, Gary Edstein notes “we are delighted to renew our partnership with Surf Life Saving Australia, a truly iconic organisation that has over many years championed awareness of beach safety and provided people with a place to connect with their local community.

“In this partnership renewal, DHL Express continues its commitment to supporting Surf Life Saving Australia in its mission, and we look forward to more collaborations in our next chapter together.”

SLSA President John Baker was equally as excited about the partnership extension and outlined its importance to the movement and the wider Australian community.

“I would like to thank DHL Express for their continued support and enthusiasm for the Surf Life Saving movement, we look forward to continuing to work positively together for at least the next three years.

“Like Surf Life Saving Australia, DHL Express provides a great service to the community, and it is with their support, that we can continue to save lives and keep our coastline safe.”

A true testament to the 18 year-long partnership, the relationship between DHL Express and Surf Life Saving Australia is built on a strong foundation of shared core values that has seen the partnership continue to grow and develop.

Since the establishment of the partnership, Surf Life Saving Australia has been able to grow their membership to include over 181,600 members, 47,000 patrolling surf lifesavers and 315 surf lifesaving clubs around the country.
