Parks Forum welcomes new Chief Executive
The Parks Forum has announced the appointment of Margaret Morton as its new Chief Executive.
Morton brings an impressive track record in building organisational capacity holding a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management and has 19 years work experience in senior management roles and has held senior exective positions in the not-for-profit sector including St John Ambulance Australia and Carers ACT; has held senior commercial roles such as Chief Executive of Williams Love & Nicol lawyers and with Dorling & Kindersley Pty Ltd and Optus.
In addition she has tertiary qualifications in science, educational psychology and project management.
Announcing the appointment, Parks Forum Chair Ian Walker wrote “Margaret specialises in organisational analysis; change management; contingency planning for business strategy, communication plans and project planning; in addition to leadership and coaching programs.
“Margaret described taking on the role as a career aspiration and as something that she could put her heart and soul into.
“(She will be) straight into action as she starts 10th June, a week prior to heading to New Zealand to meet members and participate in the Co-Governance and Co-Management Hui.”
Welcoming her appointment, Margaret Morton added “I am honoured and feel fortunate to be confirmed to the position of CEO, Parks Forum to undertake our very important work.
“I can see there is a lot of work to do but I am up for the challenge and look forward to it.
I will give the organisation an overall health check, ask questions, dialogue and listen to the members, so as to build on the meaningful initiatives of David Clarke and move those and new initiatives into new heights.
“I hope to take the enormous improvements that Parks Forum has made to the sector in its first 10 years under the guidance and direction of David and past and present Board members and make my work relevant to your business.”
