Parks and Leisure Australia seminar to focus on outdoor fitness
Parks and Leisure Australia's Western Australian branch is to hold a seminar on the planning for outdoor fitness through current and proposed Australian standards, resource and design guidelines, best practice facility and activation case studies, and equipment innovation.
Being held on 16th March at Tompkins on Swan in the Perth suburb of Alfred Cove, the seminar aims provide delegates with a better understanding of what outdoor fitness initiatives communities can most benefit from and gain an insight into designs that challenge traditional views of outdoor gyms and fitness spaces
A statement from Parks and Leisure Australia's Western Australian branch explains “structured outdoor training spaces present a fantastic opportunity for community to benefit from physical activity in fun, safe, readily accessible, beautiful and social environments.
“Outdoor gyms, parkour, obstacle courses, and fitness areas are on trend overseas and increasingly popular in Australia.
“Maximising the multiple benefits from these places requires creative thinking in policy, investment and engagement.”
The seminar is sponsored by Forpark Australia and Kompan.
