Oran Park Leisure Centre opens with array of aquatic, fitness and sport activities
Oran Park Leisure Centre has officially opened its doors to the community following a ‘Grand Opening Event’ held on Sunday 20th October.
This $67 million Leisure Centre is co-funded by Camden Council, located in Sydney’s southwest, and Greenfields Development Company.
The leisure centre, located at 74 Central Avenue, Oran Park, was designed by Warren and Mahoney Architects and built by ADCO Constructions, and is beingmanaged by BlueFit - the facility managers for Mount Annan Leisure Centre and Camden War Memorial Pool.
Camden Council hosted a community event at the facility on 20th October, with a range of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Commenting on the opening, an Oran Park Leisure Centre social media post shared “today with BlueFit Health Club, we officially opened the Oran Park Leisure Centre, a state-of-the-art jewel to the Camden LGA.
“What a party we had! The community came out in full force to enjoy a fun-filled day packed with free activities and entertainment - we even got to meet former Olympians Bronte Campbell and Sarah Ryan with Brad Grove - Adaptive Athlete.
“A massive thank you to everyone who came down to celebrate with us today - you made it an unforgettable event! From the pool fun to the group exercise sessions and everything in between, it was a day filled with excitement, energy, and community spirit.”
Along with an array of offerings, students have also commenced swimming lessons this week.
The new facility includes an indoor 50metre pool, a leisure pool and learn-to-swim pool, an indoor multipurpose sports hall with four basketball courts and a state-of-the-art gym. It also features a spa, sauna and steam room, café, crèche and ample undercover parking.
BlueFit Chief Executive Todd McHardy said his team were looking forward to delivering a range of health, fitness, sports and aquatic programs for users of the centre.
“We're excited for the Oran Park Leisure Centre to become a vibrant community hub where members and families feel inspired to engage in various health and fitness activities,” he said.
Camden Council General Manager Andrew Carfield said the facility will be enjoyed by local residents and visitors to the Camden area for many decades to come.
Carfield added “The Oran Park Leisure Centre is a testament to the vision we have for Camden – to provide world-class facilities right here in our community.
“This centre will not only cater to our growing population but also inspire the next generation of athletes and active families. We are incredibly proud to bring such a comprehensive facility to the Macarthur region.”
