Olympic skier to launch Sydney's first indoor snow centre

Snow enthusiasts will soon be able to hit the slopes year round in the heart of Sydney with the opening of In2ski, the first and only indoor snow sports centre in the NSW capital.

Founded by Winter Olympian and five-time aerial skiing world champion Jacqui Cooper, In2ski will open on Tuesday 21st January in Alexandria, just 5 kilometres from Sydney's CBD.

Announcing the new centre, Cooper explained "there's nothing better than the rush of skiing down the slopes and I'm incredibly excited that skiers and snowboarders in Sydney can join in on the action all year round.

"The conditions at In2ski are perfect every day, making it the ideal place to train or get fit for a trip to the snow."

One hour on In2ski's indoor slope is the equivalent of eight hours on a mountain and the qualified and experienced team of coaches can enhance the skills and fitness of everyone from a first-timer or beginner to expert skiers, through private or group coaching sessions.

Managing Director Matthew McMeekin says indoor centres such as In2ski give people of all ages the opportunity to experience skiing or snowboarding.

McMeekin added "snow sports are a great way to stay fit and have fun, but until now skiing and snowboarding hasn't always been that accessible. Centres like In2ski will help introduce the sport to a broader range of people who otherwise might not have had the chance to get to the snow.

"Also, the fact you can ski or snowboard anytime of year makes it all the more convenient to experience snow sports."

In2ski uses an advanced Maxxtracks ski slope simulator, providing a superior ski belt complete with boarding, fencing, kickboards and handrails. There are three slopes, a full range of premium rental equipment and a café and retail space. Coaching sessions can be booked by contacting In2ski and each session lasts one hour.

In2ski is located at 69 - 73 O'Riordan Street, Alexandria, NSW and will be open to the public from Tuesday 21st January.
