Dubai Investments to build massive domed sport and recreation park

Dubai Investments has announced plans to develop a massive indoor sport and recreation dome that will house an air-conditioned football pitch, cafes, public spaces and gardens.

As reported by Aub Dhabi newspaper The National, the ‘Crazy Garden’ the project has an investment value of Dh250 million (US$68) and will be built across 3.3 hectares of land in the Meydan area of Dubai close to the Dubai Opera District.

In an interview with The National, Khalid bin Kalban, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Dubai Investments, advised “we’ve been planning this for two years and have just received the green light from the Dubai Municipality to progress with the scheme.”

The project’s 15,000 metre² metres of built-up space will be entirely covered with a 14-metre-high glass dome so that the facility can be used 365 days per year.

At the same time, the project will create jobs and contracts for Dubai Investments’ companies, including glass, aluminium and district cooling operations.
