Ocean Park set to launch Thrill Mountain

Ocean Park Hong Kong is set to introduce Thrill Mountain, a brand new themed zone of exhilarating rides, to the media on 8th December 2011, before its official public opening on Friday.
The last of three new themed zones that have opened this year under the Park's Master Redevelopment Plan (including Aqua City and the Rainforest), Thrill Mountain offers a range of adrenalin pumping rides in a festive and colourful carnival setting.
Located near the Park's Ocean Express Summit Station and spanning 20,700 metre2 themed zone features five action-packed rides:
ï¾ Hair Raiser, Hong Kong's first and only floorless roller coaster that takes guests on five successive big inversions while hurtling towards the South China Sea at a force of 4.0G and the highest speed in town. The ride has been supplied by Swiss-based B&M Coasters;
ï¾Whirly Bird, a three-minute long ride that allows passengers to control their own vintage plane;
ï¾ Rev Booster, a rhythmic and rollicking ride;
ï¾ Bumper Blasters, a four -minute long bumper car ride that is sure to become the favourite for all adults and youngsters; and
ï¾ The Flash, the most intense pendulum ride in Hong Kong (the ride launched last year but is an integral part of the new themed zone).
The opening, in advance of the Christmas holiday season, will combine with Ocean Park's Christmas Sensation, which runs from 1st December 2011 to 2nd January 2012.
Highlights of the Christmas orientated entertainment include: the Light Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Light Show, a brand new Christmas spectacular on Aqua City's Lagoon; a 12 metre-high Christmas tree and a 3-metre tall Whisker dressed as a nutcracker in the delightful Nutcracker Christmas City; the nightly romantic Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, complimented by the Carol Singing Festival of Child Development Matching Funding to benefit underprivileged children (from from 17th to 24th December); Santa's Elf Secret Factory and Santa's Christmas Hideaway for kids and families. A heart-warming Christmas filled with enchantment and excitement awaits guests of all ages.
