NZRA seeks Community Recreation and Sport Project Manager

The New Zealand Recreation Association (NZRA) is seeking a Community Recreation and Sport Project Manager to undertake a part-time fixed term role from January to August 2011.
The role requires an experienced, passionate and knowledgeable advocate for recreation who can provide strong leadership across all levels of the organisation and across the recreation sector.
NZRAâs primary focus is to ensure that the community has the infrastructure, programmes and facilities to enjoy recreational activities. It does this through the delivery of education, advocacy, industry standards, qualifications and sharing best practice. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Community Recreation and Sport Project Manager is primarily responsible for facilitating information across the community recreation and sporting sectors by delivering key recreation related projects and seminars to the wider sector.
The successful candidate will be a team player, have good time and project management skills, hold an in depth knowledge of the community recreation and sporting sector and have excellent communication skills. There will be a focus on developing and managing relationships and completing projects like the Thinking Recreation seminar through which new community recreation professional development opportunities will be developed.
Ideally the position will be based in Wellington, however, there would be some flexibility for the right person.
