NT Rugby Chief Moves to Gold Coast

Northern Territory Rugby Union Chief Executive Tim Heath has resigned to work with Rugby Gold Coast.
Heath has had a long and varied experience as a rugby coach and manager and first came to the Northern Territory in 2000 to manage the change from a wet to dry-season competition. He took up his current position in 2001.
NTRU President Vince Kelly paid tribute to Heath's service with the code, stating "Tim has been a very loyal servant of our game in the NT.
"He came to Darwin in October 2001 for a three-month stay and tenders his resignation just short of 10 years later.
"Our game faced some real challenges when he first came here (but) since taking on the position, Tim has taken the game and the reputation of rugby in the NT to a new level.
"The Heineken Hottest 7s, the recent Oceania Rugby Sevens, and the upcoming CA Technologies Brumbies Super Rugby trial game are all testament to his professional approach.
"Perhaps one of Tim's biggest achievements is the number of kids and young people playing junior rugby on Friday nights.
"If juniors are the future, then ours is bright."
Heath will leave the Territory in March for his new position, which he said was both "challenging and daunting", adding "my time in the Territory has been a great experience and I am grateful for the support of the NTRU executive and rugby fraternity."
