NRMA continues tourism portfolio expansion with six new holiday parks

The NRMA Parks and Resorts has announced this week that it will further expand its portfolio of holiday parks to include six destinations across the east coast of Australia.

The six parks across NSW, Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria will see the NRMA Holiday Parks stable of owned and managed parks grow to 44, with further expansion expected in the coming months.

One of Australia’s largest tourism providers with a portfolio valued at over $800 million, the NRMA’s strategy to grow its services to members in transport and tourism is now in its third year and has a particular focus on championing the benefits of regional tourism.

According to the NRMA’s latest tourism report, the tourism sector has the potential to grow to $150 billion by 2030.

The six new parks will be known as:

• NRMA Stockton Beach Holiday Park - Newcastle Region, NSW
• NRMA Yarrawonga Mulwala Holiday Park - Murray River Region, NSW/Victoria
• NRMA Warrnambool Riverside Holiday Park - Great Ocean Road, Victoria
• NRMA Halls Gap Holiday Park - Grampians, Victoria
• NRMA St Helens Waterfront Holiday Park - Bay of Fires, Tasmania
• NRMA Bowen Beachfront Holiday Park - Whitsunday Coast, Queensland

NRMA Group Chief Executive Rohan Lund said the organisation was committed to boosting regional communities by encouraging more tourists to visit these amazing locations and support local economies.

Lund advised “tourism isn’t just about the traveller, it’s about the communities they visit. Regional communities offer unique experiences for domestic and international travellers and the NRMA is committed to unlocking these experiences for our members.

“Tourism produces flow on benefits for these communities and this economic injection - in the heart of this drought – is more important than ever. We want more Australians holidaying locally and as the NRMA’s tourism footprint continues to grow so too does the opportunities for our members to have an enjoyable and affordable holiday.”

NRMA Members are eligible for privileges through the mutual’s new membership program NRMA Blue and also extends benefits to other auto club members.

The NRMA owns Thrifty Car Rentals, Manly Fast Ferries, Travelodge, Hotel Kurrajong across six states. NRMA has also committed $10 million to an electric vehicle charging network to help the next generation of travellers explore regional Australia.
