New website for jobseekers in Western Australia tourism and hospitality industry
Tourism WA in partnership with the Australian Hotels Association have today launched a one-stop-shop website to connect job seekers with opportunities in Western Australia’s tourism and hospitality industries.
The free website also offers job seekers training, visa support, seasonal opportunities and information on regional destinations.
The website went live for industry earlier this month to add vacancies. Today it is being opened up to job seekers.
The jobs vacancies are searchable by the WA tourism regions - Coral Coast, Golden Outback, North West, South West and Perth and surrounds.
It is also searchable by job categories and businesses.
The current vacancies include chefs, bar staff, wait staff, restaurant managers, baristas, coach drivers, gardeners, marketing assistants, events co-ordinators, cleaners, housekeepers, tour guides and boat skippers.
The launch of the new jobs website follows an announcement earlier this week of an interstate and international marketing campaign to attract working holiday makers to WA to coincide with the early resumption of the Qantas direct flight from London to Perth.
WA Tourism and State Development, Jobs and Trade Minister Roger Cook notes “the demand for tourism and travel to our great State means we need hundreds, even thousands, of extra full-time and casual workers. "We need them in the city and in the regions.
"This is a great collaboration between Tourism WA and the Australian Hotels Association to work together for the benefit of all tourism and hospitality businesses.
"I encourage locals and those currently on working holiday visas in Western Australia or interstate to visit this website, earn some money and enjoy the unparalleled cultural experiences and many thrilling adventures our State has to offer.”
