New Ticketing Agency for NSW Sports Centres Trust
The NSW State Sports Centre Trust has taken on TicketDirect Australia as its exclusive ticketing services provider for events at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre.
After a tender process that attracted strong interest earlier this year, the move ends a relationship between the Trust and Ticketek (and its predecessor Mitchells Bass) that has existed since the State Sports Centre opened nearly 25 years ago.
State Sports Centre Trust Chief Executive Peter Ross is delighted to be signing a deal with TicketDirect Australia, explaining "the structure and pricing of the TicketDirect offer proved to be an excellent fit with the needs of our events.
"I was also pleasantly surprised at the sophistication and simplicity of the TicketDirect system through all aspects of the ticketing process from event builds to marketing and ticket sales.
"We are confident that the flexibility available to us under the contract with TicketDirect will see more and more of our promoters wanting to use them for all of their events."
TicketDirect Managing Director Matt Davey expects the deal with the State Sports Centre Trust to encourage other Australian venues to have a closer look at alternative ticketing providers.
"While we are a dominant player in the New Zealand market, the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre is the first venue to sign TicketDirect for all of its ticketing needs.
"I am confident that event promoters and ticket buyers will quickly see the benefit in using TicketDirect, not just because of the lower fees we offer but also through the cutting edge technology that makes all aspects of ticketing quicker and easier than ever before."
Tickets for coming events at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre go on sale through TicketDirect as of today.
