New Tasmanian Government ministry announced
Forming a new minority government, Tasmanian Premier Jeremy Rockliff has presented his new Cabinet, in which Nick Duigan will remain as Minister for Energy and Renewables, Minister for Parks and Minister for Sport.
Committed to redevelop the controversial Hobart AFL Stadium, two new members are joining the Ministry.
Bridget Archer has been announced as the Minister for Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Minister for Ageing while Gavin Pearce will become Minister for Primary Industries and Water and Minister for Veterans' Affairs.
Guy Barnett will be Deputy Premier, Attorney-General, Minister for Justice, Corrections and Rehabilitation, Minister for Small Business, Minister for Trade and Minister for Consumer Affairs.
Eric Abetz will become Treasurer, Leader of the House and Minister for Macquarie Point Urban Renewal.
Felix Ellis will be appointed Minister for Business, Industry and Resources, Minister for Skills and Jobs, and Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management.
Jane Howlett will become Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Minister for Racing, and Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence.
Nick Duigan will remain Minister for Energy and Renewables, Minister for Parks and Minister for Sports.
Jo Palmer will be appointed as Minister for Education, Children and Youth, and Minister for Disability Services.
Kerry Vincent will become Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Minister for Local Government, and Minister for Housing and Planning.
Madeleine Ogilvie will be appointed as Minister for Environment, Minister for Innovation, Science and the Digital Economy, Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs, and Minister for Arts and Heritage.
Another appointment see Rob Fairs become the Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Engagement and Sport.
In line with Premier Rockcliff's draft Foundations of Stability framework, a Crossbench Liaison Office will be established to enhance working protocols across Parliament.
