New Sport Huddle platform looks to build industry networks and connect expertise

Bringing companies and individuals together to find expertise, increase networks and to share resources and knowledge to help support the industry, Sport Huddle, a new online sports community has been launched.

Providing a flexible effective way to access top talent in the industry, Sport Huddle is setting out enables industry professional to connect with organisations for project based and permanent jobs, access resources and build their networks as the sector adapts to a new way of operating.

Sport Huddle also welcomes those with expertise from other industries with transferable skills which the sporting industry can benefit from.

Sport Huddle founder and Director, Jess Hurford created a platform to connect the sports community and promote a more project-based way of working as the industry evolves.

With this year’s events cancelled or postponed and staff stood down, she saw an opportunity for the industry to think differently and take an alternative and more collaborative view on workforce resourcing.

Hurford explained “I created Sport Huddle because I want to provide a new way for individuals and organisations to connect and adapt in an ever-changing work environment. I wanted to grow sport through increased learning and collaboration. It’s an easy-to-use online platform to connect sports organisations with industry experts in all areas of expertise which are so important to supporting sport on the local and international stage.”

Hurford sees that bringing the sports community together in a new way will be critical to sport in powering Australia’s economic growth, citing the Australian sports industry supporting almost 130,000 jobs nationally.

Already on board with the platform is Cameron Murray, who has worked for Commonwealth Games Australia and Rugby Australia.

Noting the importance of keeping the sport community together, Murray commented “sustainable success for any industry relies on finding and keeping the right talent.

“Fostering collaboration and creating a community to exchange ideas and resources will make sure Australia’s sports industry is well-placed to compete as we adjust to sport in the new world.”

Launched as a free membership service, Sport Huddle welcomes all industry experts and sporting organisations to join them for the future way of working in sport.
