New Screen for ANZ Stadium
Sydneyâs ANZ Stadium has recently unveiled the biggest Panasonic HD LED video screen installation in the world.
The ASTROVISION High Definition LED screens are the biggest in Australia, each measuring more than 10 metres high and 23 metres in width â some 50% bigger than the Panasonic screens installed in Beijingâs Birdâs Nest Stadium and 70% bigger than the original screens installed at ANZ Stadium for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
As ANZ Stadium Chief Executive and Managing Director Ken Edwards explains, âour objective for the new video screens is to deliver the best viewing experience possible for the fans at ANZ Stadium.
âThese Panasonic screens deliver a viewing experience which is unsurpassed anywhere in the world.
âThe screens are large enough to enable live vision of the game to be displayed at the same time as player statistics, scores, sponsored messages and venue information. For our fans this means uninterrupted viewing of the game.
âThese screens would not have been possible without the help of our major corporate partner Coca-Cola who have contributed to the cost of the screens as part of the renewal of their partnership with the Stadium that will continue for the next 10 years.?
Coca-Cola will use the screens to interact with fans and display state-of-the-art animation alongside the video footage of games - adding a new dimension to the experience of the one million plus fans that will attend events at ANZ Stadium each year.
After an international tender process, ANZ Stadium chose the Panasonic screens not only because of their leading edge technology but because of their quality and reliability.
Mark Deere Jones, Director Business Systems Group at Panasonic Australia explains that âPanasonic is strongly aligned with sport in Australia and is delighted to be continuing its relationship with the Stadium that began with the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
âIt is the ability to customise these LED screens to whatever configuration the customer requires for any outdoor application that makes Panasonic a market leader in this space.
âThe screens exceed their predecessors with the highest possible LED screen quality currently available. The new generation LED chip ensures high brightness and high contrast for excellent outdoor viewing.?
The screens also use 33% less power than the previous screen installations.
