New parkland a key part of Craigieburn Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre development

Currently under development, the Craigieburn Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre will be located within a new 12.5 hectare area of parkland in the Victorian growth area of Craigieburn.

The new parkland, which will include a regional athletics facility, also has an inclusive playspace (in partnership with the Touched by Olivia Foundation), extensive landscaping and pathways, accessible public amenities, a new war memorial and a large event space.

The construction works are being undertaken by 2Construct with Peddle Thorp the architects and landscape architect services provided by Aspect Studios.

The regional athletics facility, due for completion by the middle of the year, has been developed to be of regional competition standard and aim to encourage greater participation in sport and recreation within the Hume City Council area.

Following considerable public input, the Council is currently considering whether the parkland, currently known as Craigieburn Park should be officially named Craigieburn ANZAC Park.

Funding for this $48.5 million project has been provided by Hume City Council, the Federal and Victorian Governments and developers Stockland and Lend Lease.
