New-look link for Cairns’ best entertainment
Entertainment lovers will be greeted with a brand new look and even better booking experience when they next log on to Cairns’ own ticketing website.
Ticketlink, operated by Cairns Regional Council, provides ticketing services for events held in a range of venues across Far North Queensland.
In response to a rapidly growing online customer base, Ticketlink’s website has been upgraded to provide visitors with improved functionality and a brand new look.
In the past 12 months, 61% of tickets purchased through Ticketlink were via the website. Of online visitors, 65% accessed the site via a mobile device.
Cairns Mayor Bob Manning explains “the majority of customers are accessing Ticketlink’s services online (and as) this will only increase in the future, it’s important that we are providing a website that meets the expectations of the community.”
Central to the upgrade is improved mobile responsiveness, ensuring that the site is easy to view and navigate from any size device.
It also features a simplified view that allows visitors to easily browse upcoming shows, find information about local venues, and see clear price guides for each event.
A clean, modern look has been adopted for the new website, with Ticketlink’s own logo also given a stylish refresh.
Mayor Manning said the upgrade came at a crucial time, as Council prepares for the opening of the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) in 2018.
He added “this new venue is going to be the catalyst for a new world of performance opportunities to open up for Cairns.
“We are preparing for an increase in the volume and calibre of shows that we will be able to attract to Cairns, plus a ramping up of local production that are eager to feature on the new stage.
“The opening of CPAC will mean that Council alone will be operating three very different, but extremely high quality venues - being CPAC, Munro Martin Parklands and the Tanks Arts Centre. Add to that an upgraded CoCA and other smaller venues such as Rondo Theatre, and our city will boast a suite of performance venues that can cater for anything and everything that comes our way.
“It’s important that our primary ticketing access point reflects our commitment to enhancing our cultural identity.”
The new-look Ticketlink website offers the same high level of security and established ticketing software to protect customers using online payment methods.
Ticketlink was established in 1995 and commenced taking online bookings in 2002.
The web address remains unchanged; explore the new website at www.ticketlink.com.au
