New learn-to-swim pool opens in Emerald
A new learn-to-swim pool has opened at the Emerald Aquatic Centre in Central Queensland.
The pool was recently opend by Central Highlands Regional Council Mayor Peter Maguire who told local media "we have reached a major milestone on the $10.1 million project with the completion and opening of the learn-to-swim pool.
"We are very excited to have this facility open to the public.
"It's so important that children learn how to swim, and this custom built pool provides the perfect safe and enjoyable environment for that to happen."
A new splash pad is also to be added to the facility.
While the Emerald Aquatic Centre will close for the winter season on 31st May, it will reopen on 12th August when learn to swim classes will also recommence.
