New Identity for SCEC's Award-Winning Team
The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre's award-winning audio-visual team has launched a new identity, Centre Technical Production and Design, to encompass its broad range of services.
The new title covers all facets of the unit's work from bespoke event theming and set design, through to speaker preparation rooms and web broadcasts, as well as standard technical requirements such as lighting, audio, projection and rigging.
Announcing the change, Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre (SCEC) Chief Executive Ton van Amerongen said the unit's previous title of Audio Visual Services had not done justice to the wide scope of technical and creative work it handled, stating "we are very proud of the team's professionalism and creativity and feel the new title will better convey the broad range of services they offer."
The Centre's team last week won the award for best In-House AV services at the Meetings & Events Australia State Awards (NSW) Awards.
Under the change, the operational phase of each event will be overseen by a Technical Director - a newly created role. A Technical Producer, formerly known as a Project Manager, also will be assigned to each event.
The changes coincide with a major capital investment in the Centre's technical inventory including new high definition equipment to enhance video production, new audio visual equipment in the Exhibition Centre and a $1.5 million technical fit-out in the newly refurbished Parkside Convention Centre meeting rooms.
van Amerongen said customer satisfaction with Centre Technical Production and Design was at an all-time high, adding "this new identity will create greater awareness of the wide range of tasks the team performs and the integral role they play in helping us to deliver a world-class product."
