New cashless experience launches in Australia

A new cashless experience specialist for sports, festivals and global entertainment events and venues, is positioning itself at the forefront of Australia’s move to cashless payments.

Launching at the Event Summit conference in Sydney this week, tappit will introduce its technology to Australian professionals from the events and experience industry.

Sydney and Canberra were among nine cities considered ‘digital leaders’ in terms of cashless payments in a recent Visa report. Several major Australian sporting and entertainment venues have recognised the appeal of offering cashless experiences to their customers and the MCC is currently trialling an MCC cashless membership card within the stadium.

tappit Chief Executive Jason Thomas advised “going cashless enables event businesses to become more successful. Event owners using tappit have already benefitted from an average increase of 22% in takings, but this is only the beginning.

“We want to enable fans to spend more time enjoying the experience thanks to quicker transactions and shorter queues. Plus, with the data and insight tappit provides, organisations instantly have the business intelligence to dramatically improve not only the fan experience, but also help venues and promoters succeed too.”

Kavan Threadgold, tappit’s Head of Sales for Australia adds “tappit has a global footprint, with a wealth of experience in events and technology, helping us to become the fastest growing event technology company in the world. However, what really makes tappit stand out is our local knowledge of each region, meaning we can deliver a great, tailored experience for customers.

“As fans ourselves, we are extremely excited to join the Australian events industry to boost the adoption of cashless payments and ultimately enhance the overall event experience.”

tappit offers shorter queuing times, quicker transactions and more time enjoying the event. With cashless payments, venues have the potential to eradicate transactional fraud and theft, as well as reducing health and safety costs for event organisers through improved crowd flow and management.

Digital payments also enable event owners to quickly analyse data with real-time reports and notifications. With accurate data and business insight, it’s easier to make informed decisions for future events and create personalised offers and loyalty rewards for customers.

Venues and events around the world provide the best cashless experience using tappit, include, Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby 7s, Potato Head Bali, Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong 7s and the 2018 World Surf League.

tappit enhances event experiences for everybody; customers, organisers, owners and staff. We exist to make events better and we do it because we love events. Our technology platform has cashless payments at its core but offers a variety of added value features, including access control, detailed reporting, registration, payment service integration and more.
