New arts professionals appointed to assist Northern Territory Government arts and culture program
21 new arts peers have been appointed for three-year terms to the Arts NT Register of Peers with a further 10 having been reappointed - the diverse group of arts professionals has been tasked to assist with funding and policy decisions to facilitate the Territory Government’s arts and culture program.
The Register of Peers provides a resource of experienced arts professionals to assist with funding rounds, policy consultation and working groups, which allows industry to determine the best value for money and equitable disbursement of arts funding through the annual NT Arts and Culture Grants Programs.
New arts peers were selected through expression-of-interest and self-nomination processes.
Among the new members are Darwin street artist Polly Johnstone; arts worker and visual artist Dellina Inkamala from Alice Springs; singer-songwriter David Garnham from Darwin; and arts manager Mel George from Ramingining.
Northern Territory Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage Chansey Paech advises “the Arts NT Register of Peers provides an industry and sector expertise pool that gives invaluable funding decisions and policy development across art forms, regions, and community and cultural development areas.
“These members are well placed to provide professional expertise across all art forms; remote and regional arts practice and delivery; and Aboriginal arts practice and cultural security.”
The full Register of Peers is published online here.
