Netball Queensland appoints new Chief Executive
Catherine Clark has commenced in the role of Chief Executive of Netball Queensland, succeeding outgoing Chief Executive, Anna Carroll, who announced her intention to stand down from the role late last year.
Commenting on Clark's appointment, Netball Queensland President Kevin Brennan explained that she brings a wealth of experience from the elite sporting arena, not-for-profit and government sectors, as well as significant leadership experience and understanding of membership based organisations.
Brennan stated “I am confident she will effectively lead the Organisation as we continue to represent and grow the highest female participation sport in Queensland.
“Catherine has successfully worked as a Board Director with Australian University Sport, Hockey Queensland, New Zealand Gymnastics while serving two years as CEO, and later as CEO for three years with Gymnastics Australia delivering significant participation, high performance and business results in each role.”
“She also brings experience from her roles on several national sport advisory committees and her work as a consultant for the International Paralympic Committee..
“We are highly impressed with Catherine’s executive leadership abilities, qualifications and experience. Following substantial senior management and policy roles in participation and elite sport pathways, Ms Clark’s competencies are well aligned to the strategic direction of Netball Queensland as the State’s peak body,” Mr Brennan said.
“As a former player, coach and officiator in the sport of Hockey in both New Zealand and the Netherlands, her grassroots to elite player perspective makes her real-life experience valid. I look forward to working closely with Catherine as she leads the organisation into a new phase and builds value for our members and stakeholders in the coming years.”
Clark is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds multiple coaching qualifications, a Bachelor degree in Criminology, and is undertaking a Masters of Business Administration.
Brennan also paid tribute to acting Chief Executive Tahnee Norris, who has held the position while an executive search was undertaken.
