Neptune-Benson installs sand filters at Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort
Leading commercial pool filtration systems manufacturer Neptune-Benson has provided details of its project to supply the Defender® aquatic filtration system to the Sheraton Mirage Resort in Port Douglas.
The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort recently replaced two-14 metre long dual sand filter systems because that were showing signs of wear, retrofitted Neptune-Benson Defender® aquatic filters in 25% of the space of the existing sand filters.
Having identified advances in pool filtration over recent years, the Sheraton Mirage Manager of Engineering Hamish Barr undertook extensive research with a primary goal of selecting a replacement filtration system that achieved four main goals:
1. Produce the safest, cleanest, highest quality water possible.
2. Improve the sustainability of the hotel's pool network and reduce water waste.
3. Lower energy usage.
4. Lower maintenance costs.
Having examined all local and international filter options, Barr chose the Neptune-Benson Defender®, stating "I was confident that these filters were superior to any others and now that they are up and running everyone can see for themselves. We have achieved water that is crystal clear and clean.
"These filters with their low running cost and exceptional efficiency will help deliver benefits to our customers, the hotel and importantly our environment for many years to come."
