Neptune-Benson installs aquatic media filters at Wet'n'Wild Sydney, announces new Chief Executive

With Wet'n'Wild Sydney opening today, leading commercial pool filtration systems manufacturer Neptune-Benson has announced that its award-winning Defender® regenerative media filters have been installed at the new waterpark.

Billed as "the world's best water park", a Neptune-Benson spokesperson explained "the world's best water park demands the world's best water filters."

Home to 42 slides and attractions, Wet'n'Wild Sydney features a massive beach and the latest in waterslide technology - from a giant 'tornado'ride to the world's tallest looping tube complex and a double Sky Coaster.

With a variety of operational and environmental benefits, the Defender® UFF filter is a key component of Wet'n'Wild Sydney's environmental management strategy. Defender's ability to filter down to 1 micron helps to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the park's visitors as well.

Water efficiency was established as a top priority for Wet'n'Wild Sydney. The park will save more than 50 million litres of water a year by using rain water and recycled storm-water for 90% of the park's irrigation, wash-down and sanitation needs and by using Defender® filtration technology for all of the park's water attractions.

Selected for its ability to eliminate up to 90% of backwash water waste along with significant savings in chemical and energy consumption, the park's 20 Defender® filters are a key component of the park's environmental management plan.

As the latest in Village Roadshow's family of world-class theme parks, Wet'n'Wild Sydney is the fifth Village Roadshow park to take advantage of Defender's advanced filtration technology.

Neptune-Benson has also announced that Kenneth Rodi has joined the company as Chief Executive.

Rodi's appointment is part of a continued strategic growth initiative announced as part of Neptune-Benson's partnership with Audax Group, a leading investor in middle market companies with offices in Boston and New York.

Rodi brings with him a wealth of knowledge gained over a 20 plus year career, the majority spent in the industrial flow control market space. Most recently, Rodi served as President of SPX Food and Beverage Systems where he successfully grew the business organically and through acquisitions. Prior to this position, he served as President of SPX Flow Technology's Europe, Middle East and Africa region, based out of the United Kingdom, where he focused on growing SPX's presence in emerging markets.

Welcoming Ken Rodi's appointment, Neptune-Benson Chairman Barry Gertz stated "Ken's background and broad experience in the global industrial market aligns well with our international growth plans.

"We have realized great success with our Defender® filter technology in the aquatics marketplace and with Kens experience in the food and beverage industry, we are confident he can lead the planned crossover of Defender® into this arena."
