National first for rugby fans at Patersons Stadium

Rugby fans were given the unique opportunity to enter an Australian Test match field when Patersons Stadium hosted ‘Take to the Turf’ following the Australia versus South Africa Test match last Saturday night (6th September).

This was the first time ever that an Australian stadium permitted fans to enter a rugby test match field.

Patersons Stadium General Manager Gavin Taylor said Patersons Stadium was committed to providing great service and great experiences for fans and was pleased to provide this once in a lifetime opportunity in partnership with Australian Rugby Union.

Taylor explained “it really gave people a true feel for an international Test field and it was great to see so many fans enjoying the experience on the night.

“To set foot on the turf after Australia had just recorded such a thrilling come-from-behind victory I’m sure will be a lasting memory for all involved.”

The Stadium also hosted free live music for fans at the recently licensed Gate 9 ‘Meeting Place’.
