Natalie Cook added to Beach Volleyball World Championships ambassador lineup

By Nigel Benton

A quarter of a century after her gold medal performance at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, beach volleyball legend Natalie Cook is set to return to the spotlight - this time as an ambassador for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, Adelaide 2025.

The announcement of Cook’s ambassadorship bolsters an already impressive lineup for the World Championships, joining Pottharst, Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medalist Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Paris 2024 Olympian Zachery Schubert.

Having served as a Director of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee, and holding a position on the World Olympians Association Board, Cook is a firm believer in Olympic sports potential to create enduring legacies for individuals, businesses and society as a whole.

In her role as ambassador, Cook (pictured) will promote the diverse corporate hospitality offerings at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, Adelaide 2025 through engagement with the business community.

Looking forward to the Championships, Cook advised “hosting a World Championships at home for the first time ever is a perfect opportunity for our Aussie athletes and beach volleyball to shine on the world stage.

“As a key event on the green and gold runway to Brisbane 2032, we are excited to show off all areas of Australia.

“So head to Adelaide and soak up the atmosphere - you will love the vibe, passion and talent from all of the amazing athletes.

From 14th to 23rd November, the World Championships will take over The Drive and Pinky Flat / Tarntanya Wama and will be the largest beach volleyball event ever held in Asia or Oceania - and fans are invited to be part of the action right in the heart of Adelaide.

The 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships are supported by the South Australian Government through the South Australian Tourism Commission.
