Murdoch University announced as new Founding Partner at Perth Arena

Murdoch University students are to benefit from a new partnership with Perth Arena with the institution named as a new Founding Partner with the venue.

Vice Chancellor Eeva Leinonen joined Perth Arena General Manager Michael Scott today in announcing the link, explaining that part of the University’s focus is to build collaborative partnerships that benefit its students, staff and the wider University community.

Professor Leinonen explained “one of our core goals is to enhance our students’ understanding of the external world, and develop their capabilities to take advantage of the many opportunities ahead of them.

“By working with Perth Arena to develop an exclusive work integrated learning program at the venue, Murdoch students will be able to take advantage of future career opportunities.

“This partnership will ensure our students build the skills and networks valued by employers, whilst enjoying a range of benefits at the world-class venue.”

In addition to having access to priority queues, special offers and tickets, Perth Arena will prioritise Murdoch students as preferred candidates when applying for career opportunities at the arena.

Scott said Perth Arena and Murdoch University have natural synergies as world-class, innovative organisations with a global focus.

Scott added “Perth Arena ranks amongst the best venues in the world and this partnership provides opportunities for us to work with Murdoch University on projects that are advantageous to both organisations.

“With education meeting entertainment, we can develop what we do by using Murdoch’s researchers within our business, whilst tapping into the next generation of minds.”

Plans are in place to have future graduation ceremonies at the venue, with Murdoch University’s global alumni network also able to access exclusive Perth Arena rewards.
